Dogs on Thursday-What a Pair!

Oh what a weekend and great doggies with patience! I was able to catch Lady on the sofa and I went ahead an put Coco up along side her and she stayed long enough,
but moved during the shot as you can see, but look at the great pic of Coco I was able to get afterwards. Poor baby hasn't figured out how to get up there and was afraid of going down. She scared herself the last time she tried walking off the recliner while Mike was reclined..poor thing, but she did land paws down :-)
My baby girls have been so good playing together it been unreal! Lady is doing so great with her and really being patient herself as Coco follows her around like a shadow. I caught the two of them playing and this starts out with Coco laying on her side batting at Lady's tags on her collar and it just goes from there the two nipping at each other or on a toy, (like this one of Coco stealing Lady's "baby" (the bone)) I have noticed Lady letting her have it a few times and I think that's cause Lady gets a chance to be on her own without Coco bugging her..lol but its great to see no more mopey dog. Lady's' been running the Indy 500 again outback and eating!! Yay!!
During the weekend our patient babies plotted their safe room while Mike and I tried to get the kitchen flooring in. I did get it all repainted but we still need to finish the floor. I caught this shot when looking for the two of them during a kitchen break. This seems to be the safe room..room without a mess other then thier toys...
I've really can't get over at how the two get along so well, to see Lady on the floor and Coco on Lady's chewed up afghan just amazes me. At first Lady was not sharing her special toys, mostly the ones I call her "babies" but Coco has some too and I think Lady has finally put it together to share, then she can use Coco's toys too :-) They are smart animals, that's for sure. I was just so glad that the two were so understanding of all the mess around the house. After all half the kitchen stuff is in the living room making their space there smaller. I can't wait though till its all done and I'm sure they can't wait too as they've been liking the new floor. Find Coco laying in there all the time when she's not jumping Lady..lol This is a shot of what the floor looks like.
After its all done (hopefully this Saturday), I'll have lot more pics to show ya. Its a short, hard week for me and reason this is posted the night before. I work tomorrow to make up for Monday. I got it off, but not paid, some of the non-benies of being part time, but glad I'm able to make it up using another day. Think thats about it, I do hope you all have a great Doggie Thursday!!

Day Late & A Dollar Short

I sure hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! I know, day late and a dollar short but that seems to be the way its been around here lately. Our whole weekend was very busy around here. Guys working on the vehicles and I re-painted the kitchen, but I did receive a package in Saturdays mail that we didn't get until Sunday! (forgot to check Sat. we were so exhausted). Was a great surprise from Michelle over at InsaneKnitty. Marsha Mallow left her building and came into ours...lol
Isn't she just the cutest and she's chocolate! Along came some new Hershey Kisses too and boy I can't wait to try one. Their called Hot Cocoa Creme... yummmmmmm!
Thank you Michelle for your kindness! Michelle made this for me cause I made her Buddy Buster for the Cocoa Swap, see she didn't get one in her package, so I made her a running Snitch! So in return she made me a Marshmallow! (I told her she didn't have too), but I just adore her, Thank you so much Michelle!!! She will be sitting in my little kitchen window once I know the paint is all dry, that and we're doing flooring today! Yippeeeeeeeeeeee :-) Well, got to go!!

Dogs on Thursday

Happy Doggie Thursday to everyone!

Well our new little light weight is making herself at home and this pic here shows how she's steeling Lady's precious toys..lol
Yep, that's one of Lady's babies and believe me, Coco didn't have it for long. There are 2 of those bones, the other is an animal print with white on the other side and we gave it to Coco, but Lady has claimed all the squeaky toys. Coco does have 1, its a smaller purple paw rope with a squeaker in it and Lady tried to get it too, but momma stepped in, though I must say Lady is being really good with Coco and waits till she walks away from her special toys before she goes after it to take it back. Coco has been getting more adventurous outside and had to check out moms tomato plants. I was staking the other container as we've been having really strong winds here the last couple days. After shooing her away a couple times she finally went on to something else. Next time I checked to see where she was I caught this pic..
Coco loves the ball to chew on, not sure she knows she's suppose to run after it, but then that gets Lady running and then we get a whimpering running pup running for the door..lol (say that 5 times fast). Lady just barrels right over Coco and it scares her, but the 2 are getting along great! I'm really proud of Lady for that!
Lady posed for this one though actually this was a stare down when I told her to be careful of Coco and not to step on her. Couldn't believe she stayed like this for quite a while so I took her pic. Right afterwards she went to see what Coco was up too since I was back at trimming bushes and roses. After I was done I noticed the pups were checking things out together. I do think they will do okay. Coco just loves Lady to death and follows her all around. I know Lady will feel better once Coco grows up, then they can really play and run after each other and no one will get run over..lol

Yarn Surprises!

Wow, I'll tell ya, I have the bestest girlfriends that dye their own yarns and they sure are purdy, but I know some of you already know this...lol
Well I had ordered, unfortunately, just the 1 skein of Shades of Lilac from Mama (Amanda). It came in last week but I didn't have a chance to photo shoot it! (new puppy in the house) Love the colors and wish I would've had the extra money to get more then the one. I did go back to look and well, most was sold by then :( Absolutely gorgeous I tell ya! My photo does it NO justice at all!
Then you all remember this post on Jessi's blog, Mary's Atlantis yarn! I fell in love with the colors and it just shined so pretty! Well, not knowing what was going on and Jessi posted some new yarns, I just had to get some from her. These are the 2 skeins I ordered as I want to do socks for the family for Christmas. I again fell in love with the colors.
Love that Bermuda even though I'm not much for green, it sure does look gorgeous with that blue! Reminds me of the ocean I miss so much! I thought the Olive Branch would be great for guys socks if I get that far..lol Anyways along with my yarn order came this...
OMG! I was floored once again from my fellow friends and bloggers. My "Atlantis" yarn (now it makes sense to what her post was about) along with a gorgeous cloth (gosh if I ever knit half that nice, I'd be happy), its beautiful and so soft (need to know what you gals use for those), some mini note cards and a knitters counter. I had been wondering about getting something like that for when I knit along with the Clothmaker group (yes, I've been knitting in the background).
Jessi, you really put a smile on my face and warmed my heart! You are definitely a very caring friend. (I do still miss my girls very much, their was a definite attachment). I loved everything and about the card, your Welcome, but its a "BIG Thank you" to you!! I'm just amazed and speechless.
I know you've all been so great to me & Lady during the past few months and I just can't tell ya all how much we really do appreciate it!! THANK YOU TO ALL!!

Vet Dog on Thursday

Hey all, sorry I'm late with my doggie post, but had to do the payday bill pay this morning and had a vet visit at 9:30 am. But we're here now :)
Wow, wasn't sure how the vet visit was gonna go, to tell ya Lady was quite the wild one in the car. Figured maybe some flash backs to last month rattled her. She really couldn't wait to get in the door at the vet, kinda caught me by surprise some, but she did okay and boy did she sniff around. Coco just sat there watching her...lol (probably thinking, boy I got a crazy sister..lol) Anyways, they put us in, odd enough, the same room..I did well :) Lady did good too and Coco made herself at home on the floor all laid out. Sure wished I hadn't forgotten the camera, but I did :(
Lady is caught up on all shots now, but down to 47 lbs. and the vet said she'd eventually eat when she was ready, but it was okay to give her now and then treats. She is most likely mourning now for the cat as she's been sitting with her squeaky bone crying by the litter box.

On Coco, vet figures we're safe in saying her birthday would be about March 15. According to her teefies about 9 weeks is right. She got her first set of shots and goes back in 3 weeks for the second ones. She is fine and healthy! She weighed in at 7 lbs 5 oz. (my little light weight..lol)

So what is a doggie post without pictures...lol These are a few I got to take this morning while outside, This is Lady in all her glory!
though couldn't get the two together like I see them all the time when I don't have the camera, darn doggies...lol Don't mind the backgrounds, we have alot going on projects wise! This is the area I want to make the memory garden in. Usually Coco is right at the edge with front paws up on the bricks cause its too high for her, she seems to follow Lady around and will whimper when she doesn't see her in sight which leads to this next pic...
She didn't see Lady on the soon to be garden area so she whimpered and Lady came a running..lol and then these were taken inside...
should've had video for this rawhide jaxing...lol Lady let her have it. And I'll leave you with what seems to be Coco's sleep position
Hope you all have a great Dogs on Thursday!!

Big Post to Catch Up, Plus!

Wow, have I got a long post today plus pic's too finally! I know I won a couple contest and had a big weekend LAST weekend with new stuff we bought, plus contest prizes coming in, but its been a tough week and still trying to catch up a bit! I did send Thank you e-mails out when they came in though. Can't tell you how they brightened up my days lately!!
I'll start off saying, Yeah!! No more Saturday night bowling, so now maybe some home projects will be able to get started & finished. :) I'm celebrating that with this photo..
Aren't they cute? The league secretary handed all of us one of our choice. Mike's is the blue and I chose the green guy, I liked him over the pink gal bear holding a black/pink purse ;) Besides, the bowling ball guy needed a bowling pin to go with it...lol So now that our weekends are freed up some I'll be able to start painting the kitchen. I think I'm gonna go with a real light pale teal-ish blue and you'll see why in this pic...
again, little washed out, but you get the general idea. So I'm not really sure on my Coke stuff or what other colors or theme I'll go with at the moment..lol, but this is the set we picked out, the one both Mike & I agreed on (shocker). It is solid wood, real wood! (even has a table leaf too). This table seems to take up a bit more room even though its the same size we had, sure looks big for our area, but I'm hoping the lighter walls (once done) and then this flooring (sorry still wrapped up laying in hallway) again glare, but I'll retake once its actually down on the floor and done. This is the same type of wood flooring that locks together, just bigger panels so it should go smoothly. Kinda reminds me of cobble stone, which I love, even though right now I'd take anything over the concrete and half stripped up stuff...lol Patience isn't one of my virtues :) But I can't wait to start tearing off the baseboards and stuff :) I do love demolishen!
Now for the two contest I've won..first up is one I won from Nichole. Her contest was in honor of ASPCA day. She had lots of prizes and lots of winners too! These are my winnings.... A lovely lace scarf that Chan donated to the contest. It sure is beautiful!! I didn't realize that lace was so delicate, but I just love it and love the paw prints! The paw pin is on my purse now and arm band at work on my computer. Thank you so much Nichole and I sure hope you made your goal on money donations!
Next up are my winnings from the Snuggle Project Contest through Dogs on Thursday. I had made 2 snuggles that I took up to our vet on that dreadful day in April, but Yesterday brought these winnings in this absolutely beautiful box... These are my treats that Paula sent me... the card was perfect! One of those "aw" factor pictures on the front. Thank you so much Paula and this pic was taken this morning after the chocolate hardened up so I could stand it up :) I can't wait to see what to make from the book and I just love the color yarn! This wasn't all that was in that pretty box, here is what Paula sent for the fur kids Treats just for them. I'm sure they'll love em! Yep, didn't get to spend much time for Lady to check it out, she's been acting so weird lately and well, Mike & I went last night to looks at puppies... We thought maybe she needed a friend and well, I'd like you all to meet Coco...
This was her first picture last night after coming home, she did get a bath after this shot as she really reeked, but she is so cute and looks like a fluffy bear. She is Chow and we believe about 6-9 weeks old, the guy wasn't sure as he had two females pop a couple weeks apart and I know what everyone says about a Chow, but this one is so laid back and that little tail just goes miles per seconds. Coco will definitely be loved and no threat at all. Lady has taken to her nicely, but still crying with the squeaker bone in her mouth. I know Coco will do us both good!
I am gonna try to get clean pics today of her and the both of them together if I can. Its just about outside time anyways and I've held ya all long enough. I do hope that is everything...if I forgot something sent, remind me..its just been crazy, home & work both. We've been letting Lady stay ungated and she hasn't been too bad...lol with all the changes that have been going on its a wonder we all aren't crazy here.
If you've made this far, Thank you and I wish everyone a really great day!! and hey, Alana is having a blogversary contest. Go on and pop over and wish her well, and/or give her an idea on how to use that lovely Handmaiden Seasilk she has.

Short DoT post

Wow, its been a busy day off so far and no real good dog shots either for DoT. Think Lady is having a relapse on being by herself, she's been laying around alot like this shot, seems to be her best past time lately, that and not eating and I mean not eating. I stopped the treats until she eats and she's really worrying me as her harness almost came off today. I took her out front for a bit with us seeing we were spending most the morning in the garage. Mike had to fix the car, he hates leaving me without a vehicle, so I hooked her harness up and out we went..dang thing almost came off the first time she pulled backwards on me. She seemed kinda scared so I'm leary about making an appt. for her shots she needs, but she got to see our neighbor, John and said hello. She really acted somewhat scared.

Yeah, Mike took the day off and we had fun after he got the car fixed. We went to R.C. Willeys, so we now have a brand new table and chairs and one we both agreed on!! That was a shock...lol That leads me to this pic which will never be duplicated.
We went back out to Home Depot and bought new laminate flooring that goes down like the wood flooring :) Can't wait so I won't have to look at the ugly half ripped up floor no more. And say good-bye to the purple walls, I'll be repainting next weekend. After this weekend their will be no bowling on Saturday nights :) I do hope to get a shot sometime this weekend of the new stuff..I know you all like pictures of stuff. :)
Oh before I forget and I will work on those shots to, I received my prize from Nicole from her contest!! I'll tell ya all about it in its own post.

Happy Dogs on Thursday to you all!! Make it a good one!

SFCoffee Swap Package Arrived!

Thank you so much!!!
Oh my, where to begin! I just received the most thoughtful and beautiful swap package!! A few things brought tears to my eyes and I gotta tell ya, that's something. I'm not a crier and its hard for me too, but we had wetness!
So my pal was Nicole, from Lapdog Creations! I HAD NO idea and really wasn't thinking very well to put too and too together, I would've come up with 5 anyways the way my brain has been...lol I have to tell ya, I didn't expect to take as much out of this box as I did, WOW, packed with lots of goodness!
I'll give ya the big everything in one pic first.... I know I won't mention everything...
I've got to work on a new camera, this flash is washing out the colors, but you all get the pic of whats there....The coffee will get its first tasting in the morning, sounds rather tempting too..its called Sinful Delights! Actually sounds sexy to me...lol She even found one of the Double Chocolates I like..(we can't spell but I'm sure you all know by now which one it is) She sent me lots of ASPCA items, bookmarks, arm band and her logo magnet, which is on my frig! I do click on that link EVERY morning!! I can pamper my toes, have Boston Baked Beans, there is a cute little garden pack, note pad with my name plus a bigger one for the frig and its funny as I'll be changing out my kitchen and going with coffee & coke stuff and colors, so that is just perfect Nicole :)
Here is a close up of the yarn, its sock yarn from Gypsy Knits...
I really love all the mix of colors and can't wait to find a great sock pattern to use for it. Heck I may even try to knit a pair. I may be bugging alot of you'll, but that's what friends are for, huh?
This is what stood out the most, I have no idea why, but it did and this made me teary eyed.

This cup is absolutely beautiful. Its hand painted and it is alittle more purplish then the pic shows and I will be using it. I do love the glass mugs and this one is currently bigger then my crystal mug. Those are Pet Memory pins and I will definitely be cherishing them. I really miss my girls, especially Storm..her & I just went together like a PB & J, we had a real closeness between us.
I do believe that is everything. I do Thank you so much Nicole!! This was a great pleasure to come too and no I didn't like it, I LOVED IT!!!!! I absolutely love & adore everything! Thank you!!! and Thanks for being my friend.

SFCSwap Topic # 6

We'll go free form this week - Post about your WIPs, post about your package, post about the weather where you are - just be sure to include that the post is for the Spring Fling Weekly Topic somewhere inside it when you tell us it's there! I'd love to hear how folks are enjoying the goodies they received, if they have, or how much fun you had shopping for your pal!

I thought I would post early before I forget too, that and I wanted to show just a peek of what I'll be sending my pal.
That's not all, just a little bit.....
I really thought I would have my swap package out already, but I'm still working on another item. It definitely will go out Tuesday though. Sure had fun picking and making things and sure hope my pals likes what I'll be sending. Can't wait to see what my pal has sent me. She's thinking it will be here Monday, that would be a great surprise to what will be a very busy and hectic day. And if my pal is reading this, no, I haven't figured out who you are yet so that will be another surprise also! Its just one more thing to add to the brighter side of things. I also found out I won another prize :) Definitely a sign for better times :)
Also I was working with knitting with a knit along in a clockmaker's group, I'm glad to say I did get it all redone. (lost my stitches when they came off the needle when about half way through the knit along)..There is only one mistake I believe, although it doesn't look the greatest, think I still need some work on the tension part...lol
but is it safe to ask if this counts towards my first pair of knitted socks..lol I think that's what the pattern is, my tension is alittle loose and tight in some spots, but I think I did pretty good on it. I may get brave and try another knit pattern with different stitches..Thanks to all who said knittinghelp.com is where to go..it saved my butt on binding off!
Well, got to get all my stuff gathered and lunch made for tomorrow. You all have a great evening and hope this coming week is good to everyone!!

I am Still Here!

Boy, what a week, Is it June yet? lol I'm so glad April is behind us now, but May didn't start so well either. I didn't get up a DoT post, Lady was mad at me a bit. You see Wednesday night I hooked my swift up to the kitchen table along with the ball winder and I wound up about 15 skeins of yarn, 2 were cottons and the was either sock yarn or cascade for Lady's blanket. So we didn't get to play.
I had left my swift up thinking Thursday I would do some more, but that didn't happen. I wound up catching up on some stuff plus some knitting. My knit along knitting had come undone and I wound up starting it all over. Being a new knitter, didn't know what loops to grab and put back on the needle..lol Well, with leaving to bowl Thursday night I thought I better take down my swift or it would be a new chew toy. What I thought was a glare when undoing my swift was actually a crack in the glass and as I moved the swift off the table the whole corner fell into my other hand. Its not a thin glass..
Needless to say my two sons came in and moved the rest of the glass top out so Lady wouldn't get hurt on it. Makes me wonder if the vibration from the swift had done it. No one was near it that I know all day Thursday, unless the little bit of weight was too much. It wasn't cracked when I left it Wednesday night.
Something else good has happen though with all this...I didn't see a DoT post of the DoT blog Thursday, winds up Paula went back to school..I think that great!! I finally got back to catch up this morning and found out that I won the drawling for the Snuggle project. I had made 2 snuggles and took them to the vet with us on that doomed day. They were really appreciative with them. You can see what I won and read about it here! Thank you so much Paula!! That to me means all these rotten happenings will be ending! I'm all for that, enough is enough. I've been ready to jump into a BIG hole!! lol I also am still working on getting a decent pic of Me in the Omega, My Chan Hug! I've been wearing it alot just didn't want to show ya all my jammies..lol
Well here's to things looking up hopefully!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!! I hope it doesn't go by so fast this time!
