She's a Big Girl Now!

I really feel bad that I missed last week's DoT. There was a real nice write up about Nicki's Border Collie pack. She has some great dogs that are Champions at what they do!
Then with me not really having too many new pictures again. We have just been going crazy here doing other things. Replacing different car parts then the ones we did already, toilet tanks bolts leaking, almost got a shower I didn't want this morning and sure glad the towels weren't too far away..lol You know how those "comes in 3's" go...lol is January over with yet...lol
anyways..I thought I'd wait for today to share that our little Coco is a Big Girl now..poor thing has been in heat and doesn't understand why Lady doesn't want to be humped..lol and here I thought only male dogs did that. Lady has been a real good sport about it too, she just gets up and moves away. Then Coco goes and pouts a bit like here..
She is getting big...its not a problem anymore with her jumping on our bed to claim her spot. Then we have poor Lady shedding so bad she looks strange. With this crazy weather her fur must thinks it time to shed and we just got colder again. I hope to get her more brushed out alittle more even so she doesn't looks so bad, high and low spots and always a bundle to reach and pull out as she goes by. I really should save this , I could have made a couple more dogs by now..lol No safe place in the house at all from furballs, they are just everywhere! Gosh she sat next to me the other night and started scratching and I had to have Rob get me the vacuum cleaner, we were surrounded with fur...lol We have turned off the ceiling fans otherwise it looks like tumbleweeds rolling around..lol
Hope that you'll stop by and read about some of the other DoT posts, you'll find quite a few interesting blogs to read. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Some Finished Monthly Contest Projects...

Gosh the time is just flying by and I feel so behind on everything. Its even been a while since I posted so thought I'd show some finished projects that I've managed to get done for different Ravelry group contest/CAL's. Their about the only things I haven't' run out of yarn on..lol
First up is a shawl, my very 1st time in getting a shawl pattern to work out. Can't tell you how excited I was! Though when I first started I wasn't picky when reaching for yarn as I thought the same as all the other shawls I've tried in not being able to do it, but wa-la... I give you a Lisa Gentry pattern called "Way to Go Shawl" (ravelry link).
Mine is made with Caron Simply Soft in the color "Bone". Its an easy crochet and pretty fast too. I haven't blocked it yet, Lady fur everywhere and lack of space to lay it out, I'm waiting..lol I'm just so excited that it worked out and it looks the way its suppose to!
This next project was a monthly CAL and is another Lisa Gentry pattern called "Flower Ball". Lisa likes us to get creative and see what kind of ideas everyone comes up with so some did the ball shape, we had 1 egg shape and even there was even a cone shape..really pretty, 1 also made a headband with them.... so in my wanting to be different and not knowing what to do with my flower pieces, Mike suggested an ornament, like the ones I was making before, so here is my Victorian Christmas Color Flower Ball ..these are the big shatterproof Christmas balls.
I was pressed for time so I do need to actually glue my flower pieces on. I actually forgot and didn't realize that the double sided tape would hold so good..lol I only used it so I could get them to stay on and arranged and then forgot after the picture was taken...lol I think I'll be making more of these so I have more than just the one. Then I'll re-fix this one :-)
That's all my goodies, still have half a pair of slippers in the works and I just ran out of yarn on my crocheters tote, maybe I'll play with fabric for awhile...lol My pattern came in too, so hoping this weekend will go slow, I have alot I WANT to do..lol
Well, gotta to go for now...Thanks for stopping by and hope all have a great evening.

Happy Doggie Day-DoT

Happy Doggie Day!
Gosh, It's Thursday already and it finds me with only 1 new picture. Been a week of trying to find stuff put away from Christmas, plus organizing where the guys are gonna put the new bridge they built for this years Polar Express, that is at the moment still on the kitchen table..lol makes it hard to eat a meal together. :-)
I've been busy finishing up some crochet projects and working on others, just haven't had the time for doggie photo's, but I'm sure the girls don't mind, they have been keeping each other occupied. Another thing I wish I could get a pic of is the two of them tugging on a toy, there has been alot of that lately. I will eventually get one of them doing that.
I know alot of you have mentioned Coco getting so big...after looking through pic's tonight you sure are right! Coco is growing like a weed, WOW!! Guess we don't notice it much until looking at old pics. She's been so funny lately and I wish I could get pictures of her when she's acting like a cat. She has that paw bit like a cat does when its batting at you and its just too cute to watch. I do think she may be part cat...lol She is getting along with Dyna alot better too..hooray! Unfortunately I have no photo this week of her, but I do have one of Lady as our usual lapdog.
Lady loves to lay with daddy, but they are both totally mamma's girls. This is where she finally settled in as she climbed in from the side of the chair...silly pup. I think she likes to lay with us to get a little break from Coco..they run around chasing and biting at each other, which right now Coco gets nothing but a mouthful of Lady hair..she is shedding so bad and in clumps...stupid weather! It sure has been weird and spring like and its just TOO soon!! Not ready for warm weather yet, its still suppose to be winter! I think about all of you in the freezing temps and all that white stuff I wish we had here..do stay safe and bundle up good and we'll see if we can't blow these warmer temps your way.
Hope you get a chance to stop by the DoT blog and visit with the other doggies, the blogroll sure is growing!

Something To Keep Me Busy!

I know, I know, like I need more to keep me busy, but I was so excited when I saw this pattern that Mike told me to get it..well with still waiting on new bank card and checks I had no way, so he was sweet enough to get it using his pay pal acct. I can't wait till it gets here.
Its the Knit N Go Girl Knitting set. Everything you need to get organized. Can't wait to pick fabric for it!
I could use something to go right in my life at the moment and get my mind off wanting to kill someone..lol Though good news, my new bank card is in, just have to activate it, but still waiting for the new pin # and my checks. I have been thinking about just switching to a new account as I'm so tired of the crap with the old one, new charges still coming in even though the bank said my old card had been canceled...boggles my mind. I can spend my own money the way I want too, I don't need help!!
Any-hoo something to look forward too and I'm working on finishing some started projects as I joined in the Year-Long-Gift-Along at ravelry. I was glad I had completed a few months worth of gifts before falling apart, but I'm sticking with it all year this time, no matter what comes up.
My first finished projects were my January Squares for the Block a Month CAL on ravelry. I decided to make all 3 of them. Can always put the 6" square bordering the 12" blocks. Here's what I have so far,
2- 12"- Esther
and Mandala and then the
6" Diana's Flower
Not sure if they are the finished sizes they are suppose to be but the two larger squares are the same so I can make it work either way.
Well, got to get back to other projects, I took yesterday to get 2 new roses planted and moved 2 other ones plus trimmed our Bottle brush tree, I'm pooped and lower back is alittle sore so I thought today while guys watch the Eagles game, I'd sit and catch up on my crocheting.
Hope you all have a great day!! Later, gators.....

Happy 2009 DoT

Wow, I kinda feel lost with no doggie posts during Christmas & New Years, but in the long run it worked out as we were really busy. We had a great Christmas with all our kids and the grands, so much that we hardly got any photo's taken at all. Even Krista commented about that the day before they left..lol New Years went well too. Mike, Rob & I did the usual bowl bash and had a blast. Monte Carlo style bowling, though I only got about $1.50...lol Oh well, we had a blast which makes up for the craziness we've had the last few days and over the weekend. We finally got all the Christmas stuff plus the train stuff put up...think we need a bigger attic..lol
The girls were really great..they lounged around and sometimes got in the way, but they slept around us. While we had their beds blocked, they slept here
and then when we had the floor cleared enough for their beds again, I think they were alittle afraid to lay in them until they knew for sure we were done moving them...lol You can see them watching us, in fact here is Coco close up with eyes keeping watch ...Later after taking out some box's I think she wasn't too sure about even leaning on her bed, cause this is where we found her when we came back in..
Crazy pups putting up with all the mess, but they've been really good and now Coco loves to go out into the garage too..no more fear there! In fact she runs for the inside garage door anytime we walked down past the den...lol Really have to watch as she'll run you over trying to make sure she gets out there..lol Not sure if its from all the craziness of Christmas and noisy kids and she's afraid to stay inside without us or she's getting braver. I'm glad in a way as she's use to shiver something fierce and we usually go out by way of the garage so I'm hoping that will help the next time we have a vet visit. (or maybe its just my wishful thinking)
Well I do hope you all have a Happy Doggie Day and don't forget to stop on over DoT and check out all the other doggies. Lots of participants and lots of great photo posts. Catch ya all later..........be good to yourselves!
