This Week's Topic:Browse around some of the other blogs of participants, and find one person who enjoys a similar roast coffee to you - share something interesting about them that you find on THEIR blog, and tell us what you've been working on knitting or crochet-wise this week!
Well I browsed alittle and find I have lots in common with one of our hostess, Anne! We're both caffeine junkies and choco-holics, what could be better than that!! lol And she has a cat which I have 2 for now, though I don't talk about them much..they mostly nap all the time and Lady keeps the one on the run. I too received some Ghirardelli’s Double choc & Choc. Carmel from a friend in a swap and I'm in love with the stuff, only I can't find it out here..lol
As far as what I'm working on right now...believe it or not, nothing is on the crochet hook! OMG :-O Just finished up a couple items for the Year long gift along blog so I'm taking the night off..lol I'll be running around tomorrow (day off) like another chicken without a head and then be finishing up some custom Etsy orders! Love that, especially when the stuff isn't up in the store yet..lol Hopefully be putting items up there this week. I have a lot of Fabric covered Rice rolls I've been working on along with smaller ice pak size bags too. All types of fabric prints in cotton & some flannels. I'm stuck now on Muslin, thats a definite stop and pick up LOTS! lol
Well off to relax a bit...

We Have Finished Socks!
Well I did it. I finished the toe area during my lunch hour and just finished the heel here at home. I'm really kinda proud of them as I didn't really have a pattern to go by for the toe section. These are my 5th item on my March list for the Year Long Gift-along. These are the pedicure socks pattern with a make-shift, hope I did it right toe put in.. Kinda did my own thing knowing to do the decreases on the side. Yeh, they look alittle funkie and I learned alot, you can see where a couple decreases might've been too soon but they turned out and they do fit (little tight, but nicely)!
here's a sideview and yes I have a high arch..lol
I think I will be putting another pair of socks on my Aprils list and one that is by pattern..now that I know how this works..lol
I really love these colors but lost my label so have no clue what to tell ya..I do remember it being Regina Sock Yarn.
Now to make a list for my April items.

Finished Quarter Challenge Gift!
Woo-Hoo I did it!! I'm glad to say that I've worked all day on this gift item and it really was a challenge as far as the pattern went.
The Snow Girl Outfit
Made from Caron Simply Soft in Off White with Soft Pink and Bone stripes. The scarf and hat have been done for quite a while but the sweater I'll be going to the devil...lol Potty mouth I was at this baby..I had a hard time with the way the pattern was written, but I fumbled through it and well looks good to me! I finished it with the buttons I had on hand, but I most likely will change those out once payday is here. But it is DONE!! Thats my second QC! Now if it fits my granddaughter I'll have it made!
Now to finish my sock which is just about done so hopefully be posting that tomorrow after I get home from work! Its my last item for March so I'll be making my hook fly so it done by tomorrow.

DoT- Lady meets Luigi
I wasn't sure I was even gonna have a post for today..not much goes on here lately since I'm back at work. The days I am home have been busy so I'm feeling a little guilty with my girls..
I tried a few times to pick Luigi back up, but Lady stood ready, so I let her rest a bit. I was gonna put the camera away and wait another day when Mike said she was sitting so pretty, so I took the chance and got this.
She is a leaner, but she was sitting pretty and guarding our new visitor :) I'm sure I'll have to be careful while Luigi visits here, but if he is sitting in reach I know he's got the best guard! Should be fun and interesting to say the least and I hope Luigi enjoys his visit with us, I know Lady will!
But on Tuesday night we had a visitor show up in the mail! (yes the mail).
Way back during the Knit1 T 2 swap, I met Roni (Devon's Mom) and she was telling me about Luigi, he is an exchange student who loves to travel. Well, he showed up on my doorstep in a big ole beat up box Tuesday night :) I've never seen a dog move so fast as to wanting to see what I had. I put Luigi on the sofa sitting him up on the pillow we use to keep some of the cushions hair free ( ha-ha), Lady went nuts, she kept trying to steel his hat & sunglasses. After all the sniffing when I tried to pick him up she would grab onto him..he was hers to guard...lol My picture isn't very good, you can see she was starting that part of her evil eye look, shutter took too long to click, but she was in Luigi's face. Definitely checking out this guy!

Contests
Just a few short words to say Chan's contest is still going. I thought I'd share in what I'm sending for some gift prizes for her blogiversary contest.
I think everyone knows there would be something dog involved...lol I call them Soothing Rice Rolls..long ones for heat and small ones for cold. I decided to add a second one with Dice
and it will also have the smaller ice pack size one with it too. I just couldn't decide which one to send, so she's getting both!
Then Anne is having a contest in interest of finding new blogs! Go check them out..you have til April 1 to get in. Do me a favor and tell them I sent ya! Thanks!!
Also for the Spring Fling Coffee Swap I am a sponsor and just mailed out today to Anne the prize I am offering...I think this fabric is so cute and fits the "coffee" theme.
It definitely was quicker to make fabric covers for these verses crocheting them. I do hope to have a few more of these up in my Etsy store soon too. First one I put up was crochet covered and sold the same day :)

We Have Slipper!
WOO-HOO the moment some have been waiting for:
It worked! My slipper is still too wet, I didn't ring it out much, but you can see that the bigger bottom (sole part) came up on the back and front some, which for me is okay, I'm rough on toes and heel parts..lol Can't wait til its dry and I can shave it up. (it'll look alittle better then) I even have room in them so I can wear my fuzzy socks :)
I am so excited and can't wait to get the other one done now. I"m behind on my gift along items :) I do see lots more of these in my future! This time will use not such a bigger hook then they call for, but at least I know it'll turn out if I do...lol

Dogs on Thursday
Well its a not so exciting dog post around here today! Think my girls are bored with me at the moment...lol I have one hanging out in the bathroom
though I think Lady is just happy to have me home today! She won't have to get gated up until I go to the post office.
I'm hoping to get the smaller ice pack type done later. More stuff for Etsy under doggies section when I get the stuff finished up..lol I know this next one doesn't deal with doggies, but hey, were in Vegas baby..lol so I think it fits :) This one is done in a flannel material and will have ice pack size too.
Provided my girls stay napping a bit and I get off this thing..lol
though I think Lady is just happy to have me home today! She won't have to get gated up until I go to the post office.Don't mind the pillows..if they weren't laying where they are the doggies would be! :) Only one spot on the sofa is their main "spot" to lay, unless they are being lap dogs or trying to take over and see who is top dog..lol Like this one with Mike trying to nap one Saturday, Lady had other plans :)
Though she is just too dang cute! Her head was down like she was laying with him until she heard the camera opening..dang noisy digital..lol

More FO's!
Woo-hoo..thought I was at a standstill there for a while, but I finally got my butt in gear and got my Soothing Rice Roll Finished. I planned to make 1 but actually wound up making 2! Plus I have 2 more rice parts waiting for covers, but that will have to wait till my next day off :)
This one is Sea Mist color and the other is "Iris" color
Don't let that blue one fool you, its really a bright purple so I copied the yarn color right from Caron's website so you know what color that is.. Sun or no sun, camera flash or no flash it wanted to be blue...lol But this is the actual color!

I'm gonna try to get my BIG slipper felted tomorrow night as it'll just be me, the doggies and cats so I should be able to get it done. I just didn't have enough time today with finishing these and updating my Etsy store. Yes, I finally got some new stuff up there and still have some more if I get them done! I still need to get my butt in gear and finish my Quarter Challenge item too as time is running out for me..that dang sweater ..lol
Hope everyone has a great evening!! Later.....

BIG Foot Comparison
Well, I went ahead a made the upper part of the felted slipper and I'll tell you, I had to stretch the upper big time to get it to match up with the sole....lol So here it is next to my foot for a size comparison.
Think I am going to go ahead and felt just this one, just to see what to expect from it. No sense in ruining two if the one doesn't work out.

What Dog Breed Are You?
I saw this on a blog but don't remember which one...lol Memory is not one of my strong points..lol Blogger wouldn't let me copy/paste the cute little pictures, I Know how everyone loves to looks at pictures..lol But this was my results:
You are a Labrador Retriever!
Your family is what makes you tick, and you never "flea" from an opportunity to hang out with the whole gang. A family picnic complete with hot dogs, deviled eggs and a refreshing swim in the lake is hard for you to stray from. Your sparky temperament and dogged intelligence mean you are not only a blast to hang out with, but great to work with as well. Your close pals appreciate your patience and forgiveness, knowing you'd rather let sleeping dogs lie than dwell on the mishaps of the past. Your dashing good looks may one day lead to a modelling career, if only you can tame the unfortunate clumsiness that sometimes causes you to go flailing from the catwalk.

DoT & Work
OMG I keep forgetting to post this, but I've been busy since yesterday. I got a call and was offered my old job back, so I've been trying to get things tidied up before going back on Monday! I'm excited to say the least. Its still just part time but that's what it was the last year and I know I'll get caught back up financially. Definitely a release of stress and answered prayers. :)
Only have a picture for you today for the DoT post. I thought maybe I could get them outside playing but there were too many landmines, if you know what I mean....lol Maybe next time.
So instead I leave you today wondering what the heck Lady is doing? She's not a lap dog...she's a sofa hog! LOL
Hope everyone has a great day!

BIG Foot! OMG!
Good Lord, I knew I had big feet but this takes the cake :) LOL
Has anyone done a pair of Felted Slippers? Is this size difference normal for this???
Holy Cow Batman, I mean, I like the way this makes my foot look small (please excuse the hairy legs) :), but good grief Charle Brown, is this gonna shrink that much? I've felted lots of time, but never had this much difference in size to shrink down. Can anyone help with info?? Makes me wonder if I should choose another color other then the purple I wanted to make the upper part...might wind up being a guys felted slipper!
I'm following the crochet pattern for Felted Slipper here (its a pdf file download and free) and I'm doing the size for Ladies 7-9, even though my foot should be in a 10. It says to use a 5.5mm which is an "I". My foot being bigger then size called for I went up to a 6.0mm "J"..should I not have done that??? Help please if you can!

Some Fo's & other Projects
Just a quick post here to show what I've been up too lately. I was hoping to show you the cute doggie fabric that I talked about in a previous post, but can't seem to locate the pic..lol I'll have to get the scraps together later and see what I can get in a new picture, but I do have a finished dog scarf which is what I've been doing. I am making these reversible so they just flip around, easy elastic gathering around back part of neck section.
The more I do these, the more I'm gonna torture my pups again..lol Just for laugh I'd like to see it on one of the dogs put on like a regular head scarf...I'm not that mean that if they won't let me do it I won't, but the thought gets stronger every time I think about it..lol Make for a great DoT post :)
These are the 3 blocks I needed done to catch up with the Block a month on Ravelry, also part of my March Gift list items and then this Tea Cozy,
which doesn't seem to want to sit right on my Santa Teapot..lol I'm sure it would sit right on a regular teapot.
These are actually covers you make for those big plastic Easter Buckets Wal-Mart has for $1, only I didn't have any of them so I make shifted my basket parts. Small one s a cool whip container with Plastic canvas handle and the Large basket is a 1 quart Gladware container with plastic canvas handle. Not bad, did both in about 5 hours though spent alot of the time looking for something to use for baskets, yarn colors and dog interruptions...lol, but I didn't mind those breaks, the weathers been so gorgeous lately hovering mid 70's so I didn't mind going out with them a few times.

Happy Anniversary!
This day- March 8, 1975Sorry for the crappy picture, it had to be scanned in and well, it is 33 years old, but its the only pic we have of our wedding! Thats Mike in uniform and my dad in a suit! My two favorite guys in the world, next to my boys who came later on..lol. Hard to believe its been that long!
Happy Anniversary Mike! I love you! Hope we get another 33 years in there!
Spring Fling Coffee Swap Questionaire
Coffee
1. What is your preference? Whole beans or ground?
Either works for me
2. What kind of coffees do you enjoy? A rich, bold roast; a light, fresh one, or something in between? Leaded or non? I'm not picky with types, rich, bold, med...but definitely has to be LEADED stuff..this body thrives on caffeine and has to have it :)
3. If you were headed out right now to buy some coffee for the house, what would you be picking up? Coffee for the house is Maxwell House Master blend, but we have a second coffee pot for the flavor ones my one son and I like to have.
4. Do you drink for caffeine, pleasure, or both? For the caffeine for sure but I do love the taste so guess that's both..lol
5. Do you enjoy flavored coffees? Definitely love the flavored coffees. Received some Ghirardelli coffee samples from a previous swap and I'm hooked on the Double choc, but haven't had a chance to try the Choc Carmel yet, but its next to try. I do love the Starbucks too. How about add-ins or flavored creamers? Hope no hurt feelings here, but creamers are for sissies, that just washes out the coffee flavor. Strictly Black with sugar for me. (real sugar, body thrives on it too)
6. A large, lovely mug or a small, dainty cup? Definite Big Mug, don't have one from last coffee swap as it broke in mailing.
7. Describe your perfect cup - not JUST the coffee, but how you'd enjoy it! Black with 2 tsp sugar and usually at my desk reading blogs or sitting outside with the dogs, just enjoying the coffee and fresh air or the good reading. Nothing special, just love the stuff and drink it all day long and up to bed time.
8. You're sitting down to enjoy a nice cup in the local coffee shop, knitting bag in hand, iPod all tuned up - or maybe you're there with a few friends for knit night! What treat do you pick up to enjoy with your coffee? A sweet, rich brownie, or something more healthy? How about a salty treat? What goes best with that great cup and company? Tough one there, I'm a chocoholic big time, but eating the sweets with coffee just makes things with sugar taste really bland and would have to go have a smoke (no fear, we do not smoke in our house). I'd be happy just enjoying the coffee with some good friends and chit chatting.
Yarn:
1. Do you knit or crochet? I'm a crocheter
2. What are your favorite types of yarns to work with? No favorite really, so many I still haven't gotten to work with. I love sock yarns, don't mind cottons at all, have wanted to try some I see other bloggers talk about like malabrigo, tufootsi, bamboo blend or silk blend of some kind.
3. What do you have on the needles (or hook!) right now? Lots of things..lol a sock on one, Stained Glass bag on another, a scarf that needs finishing, and working on a child's sweater and tea cozy..I think that's it until I start my felted slippers. I belong to the Year long Gift along so I have 5 projects needing done by the end of the month.
4. What are your favorite colors in yarns? I like purples for my kitchen, neutrals or Blue, Burgundy red and beige for the rest of the house, just about anything for socks, blues, teals, gray, black and variegated yarns you'd find me with also What about those that you'd never find in your stash? There would never be orange. I do have some orange that was given to me free and I only use it for Halloween stuff.
5. What sort of needles or hooks do you enjoy using? Standard old aluminum ones, haven't tried my Addi turbo hook yet Any you just detest? Not really, not yet anyways :)
6. Are there any particular notions you absolute do NOT need? Some of us swap a lot - are you sure that you have enough tape measures to last your lifetime? I could collect tape measures, I do have 2, a sheep and an Oreo cookie, but would love a choc chip too...lol I do have alot of bags and it helps to have the same stuff in them cause I always forget tape measure and scissors...I could use a pair of small scissors for my bags, I don't have but the one on my desktop in my tissue holder. Always seem to forget to grab em. Enough stitch markers to mark every stitch of a 10 foot wide afghan? Believe it or not I have NO stitch markers for crocheting, their all for knitting. I've only knitted about 3 dishcloths so really haven't gotten to use them. But with crocheting I wind up using a safety pin..lol Just haven't gotten around to making them for myself.
7. You walk into the yarn shop and have exactly and only enough money to purchase 2 skeins of yarn in their 2 for 20 special they have going..The choices are a soft, thick cotton/viscose blend in your favorite colors, slightly variegated..a beautiful sock yarn that's just squishy and springy in your hands.. a soft, worsted weight wool like malabrigo.. and a lovely bamboo blend with colors to just die for. Which do you walk out the door with? Sure they aren't having a Super Sale...lol Your describing yarns I haven't tried or seen or even felt. Maybe they have lay-a-way...lol
Spring
1. We're starting sign-ups on the first day of Spring - is it already truly Spring-like where you are? Well right now Vegas is on its roller coaster weather. It has been in the 70's and then a cold front comes and blows us away..lol Back to 70's again this week but cool by the weekend they say...Good thing I like roller coasters..only problem is when Spring is actually here and that's if we even get a spring it never last long and then the hot temps come in. Everything here is blooming and Roses actually never died off. They seem to bloom year round this year.
2. What's your favorite spring flower? Favorite Spring flowers are the bulb kind like, Hyacinth, crocus, daffodils, tulips..they all are so pretty and smell good. Do you have one? My all time favorites though are Carnations & Lilacs and those and the bulbs I do not have.
3. What do you most look forward to about springtime? Actually love this time of year out here, the temps are great and wish could be year round. This is my outside time, have lots in the gardening department to work on, plus need to replace a few outside ornaments. Just wish this time of year stayed longer before the summer months come.
4. They've predicted a gorgeous day tomorrow - Sunny and about 65 with a nice breeze - how do you spend your day? Outback with cup of coffee, doggies and possibly a project in the works. When the traffic is quiet its nice to just listen to the wind chimes blowing with the breeze. For change of pace I weed some or fix my yard decorations..
5. The day after, it's going to be cooler and pouring down rain - does that impact your mood? Rain, your kidding, we don't get rain ...lol How do you spend that day? If not blowing rain, you'll find me outback sitting under the patio cover watching it or out standing in it cause its been so long since we've had a decent rain. It usually just spits most the time whenever it does happen. What helps cheer you up? Most times I would say the cloudy weather gets to me some, I'm one of those that needs the sunshine, but usually sitting outside switches my moods, or listening to music, but alot of times just putting my mind on my projects or playing with the dogs does the trick.
Odds n Ends
1. Do you collect anything BESIDES yarn and needles? I do collect and love Angels (pretty ones), collect lighthouses, designed shaped candles or fancy candles, wind chimes and M & M & Coca- Cola stuff.
2. Are you allergic to anything? Desert Dust :)
3. Do you have pets? Yep, 2 dogs- Storm & Lady and 2 cats-Electra & Dyna
I do want to let you know that Storm is diabetic, something we found out after I quit work :(
4. Is this your first swap, or are you an old pro? Guess I would fall under old pro What are the last 2 swaps you participated in? Winter Doldrums dishcloth Swap & Hot Cocoa Swap
5. List 3 of your favorite blogs - craft related or not - and tell us why you love them.
Mind you I do have more then 3 that I read so I'm approaching this question alittle differently:
1. For my creativity, keeping me close to the beach and inspiration to knit would be Nancy, Chan & JoAnn to name a few. We also share alot in common too!
2. Keeping me up to date in blog land, whether it be swaps, contests, patterns or where to find something would be Anne & Michelle. We also share alot in common too!
3. For laughs or keeping up with ones with younger kiddies to keep this grandma up to date with what kids like now a days and of course new colors in hand spun fibers would be Jessi & Mama. If you want crack ups laughs please do visit Cass..sometimes reading her blog will have you laughing til you pee...lol
If Looks Could Kill (Late DoT)
My bad, I got busy and forgot all about it being Thursday yesterday until the guys came home from work and said "No bowling shirt tonight?" lol So I'm late with my Dogs on Thursday post, but guess it paid off for these reactions...lol
I think Storm wanted to get me for this...lol Did I torture them that bad? All I wanted them to do was sit and model for me..lol Really makes me wonder what they are thinking to themselves...lol I'm busily making dog scarves after a special request and had some great fabrics sent my way to make them with. This material was some flannel I had and played with to come up with the elastic neck band, that way theirs no ties to come undone and the elastic gives some so its not tight around the neck. Grows with a growing pup too :) I'll post some pic's of the finished dog scarves when I get more made up. Really cute fabric and I've been having fun trying to match them up, you see they are reversible so theirs a different design on each side. The other side of this one is solid lavender. Heres a picture of what it looks like off the dog :)
My flash washed it out some but these ladybugs are very colorful.
My flash washed it out some but these ladybugs are very colorful.I had to laugh a bit...I had the idea of putting this on one of the dogs like you would a regular scarf, be great for dogs with long ears to be held back to stay out of the food bowl while eating....ummmm, but with those looks above, I didn't chance doing that...lol
Well hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
Don't forget clocks go ahead an hour (late Saturday night) if your in the time zone change areas.

Help Cheer a Friend!
With talking with Nancy over at Days Go By, she's decided it was time to let Buttercup go over to Rainbow Bridge and the Big Veggie Garden in the sky on Wednesday. No more pain or non working legs and Buttercup can do all his bunny hopping to his hearts content now.
Please take a moment to stop by her blog and give her some comfort of friendship :) I know she would appreciate it!
Our thoughts & Prayers are with you Nancy!! You have lots of friends to help :)

I Have An Awesome Swap Pal!
Warning: This is a picture heavy post!
These are all the books and Weekly Calendar, plus a hook and needles and a Needle Felting Kit...Think I'll be outside for quite a while :)
Oh My gosh JoAnn the doggies went nuts when I opened the box, but then bringing out their treats I had to give them one so they wouldn't get everything all wet from all their sniffing..lol The biscuits went over great! I haven't seen those out this way yet and that's the brand of food I switched them too in the chicken flavor, better for Storm. So lots tail wags and woof woofs to you from them!! I can't wait to try the Choc coffees and the cocoa..Yummmmmmmm Candy cane Cocoa! Favorite flavor of cocoa for me :) I'll try to be nice and share some of my real Oreo's...lol
They are so pretty and they will go with my kitchen really good! They'll be up high on top of the cabinets with my plants! (extra hiding spots for my choc I don't share..lol) I love Iris's too, though I remember always calling them Flags, but that's what my Mom always called them too. The little sheep is just too cute and so nice and soft too! Can't wait to do the Knitting Diva's Crochet kit, even the soap is purple! So much neat stuff I never knew was out there...Sometimes I think I live in a cave...lol You see that knit pick bag? Its the yarn traveler and came with these pretty yarns in it!
First time using Fantasy Naturale, can't wait to use it! I love the colors, perfect!! I know JoAnn had a blast, most likely cause of our common interests! I know I had a blast opening everyting!! Better then Christmas! The skein of Velvet Touch is so soft, I've been keeping it close to pet it...lol I"ll have to find something to make myself with it!
I have an Awesome Pal! I received my Defeat the Winter Doldrums Swap package yesterday and got the surprise of my life! It was a great surprise and definitely chased the doldrums away more then my pal could know. Thank you ever so much JoAnn, I absolutely LOVE everything!!!
The days have been in the 70's so I'm sure she'll get a laugh when I say I plan on sitting out today with my song card (plays Kokamo) and some of the books I received, plus with my Cape Cod Air in a Bottle! (and yes I did sniff it!!). Wonders of my imagination will have me at the beach in no time! (and I can add the sand that Chan had sent me awhile back, I got it made)
These are all the books and Weekly Calendar, plus a hook and needles and a Needle Felting Kit...Think I'll be outside for quite a while :)JoAnn was my secret pal and man did she go overboard!! This is my awesome package when I first opened it and took out all the hp packing...lol (guess that's from her new printer)
Where to start was such a hard decision so I just took pictures of everything in groups as their is alot..lol Here are my dishcloths and if you look hard enough the purple one is of a lighthouse! Very pretty and one of the many things JoAnn and I have in common!
I just love the colors she did these in and I'm always in need of dishcloths. Here are some of the cottons that she sent me, 2 of the colorways I've not seen before out this way so should be fun working with something different.
I put the Oreo tape measure in with them as she had that sent right from Yarndemon Designs! I love it!!! Which brings me to treats, not just for me, but for my doggies too!
