Another FO & Dogs on Thursday

Aw my footie sock got squashed for now and think I have decided to frog it and make them from this pedicure sock pattern, just have to add a toe. I like the way these fit, alot tighter then the footie pattern and I think thats because I can't find my "E" hook (that my socks call for)..lol
I made these for Crystal for her birthday which was Monday. Got her to try them on as I just finished up the second one this morning so those are her tootsies you see :) I have plenty of leftover of this yarn to make another pair. Think I will do them for Krista instead of sending the plain dark black pair.(the ones you saw before) I do like these in the colors over the black..lol My sock yarn for mine will look great too..can't wait to do mine!
The specs on these are Size F hook and Super Soxx Cotton and have no clue on colorway, the label is not in English..lol Made for a company in Reiden Switzerland, but it is a superwash, thats the other word in English.

Just because these were so pretty I just had to show ya Roses Nick got for Crystals Birthday. Aren't they pretty?

and now My Dogs on Thursday!

These are my doggies just about every other day now...since I was sick before I guess they got use to napping in the morning after everyone left...lol Though Lady made sure she came in to bug me cause she needed the pillow moved so she could get up their with Storm too. Almost look like bookends, but I'm still amazed that they've been laying so close together and alot lately, too. Nothing really special going on..Storm is holding pretty good but I've been afraid to change the insulin down one cc, so she still at 18cc twice a day. Don't want to mess with a good thing going. She's been jumping and playing and has weight again, its been really nice like her ol self again. In fact both got a bath earleir in the week and she sat really good for me. I use the downstair shower as we put one of those handheld shower heads in, so my girls are spoiled with warm water and its a smaller room to clean up afterwards from all the shaking off...lol

Well guess thats it for now..gotta get another pair of pedi's made. Hope you all have a good one!!

Another FO!

Wow, I do believe I am feeling lots better!!! I seem to be back on a crochet roll again!
I've manage to get all my Feb goals that I listed from the Year long Gift-A-long finished!
My last project was this Beaded Basket. My jute was alot bigger then what the pattern called for and I wound up using a size N hook, but I have to work from stash :) I didn't have 14 big beads so I did wind up spacing what beads I did find alittle further apart so that I would have enough. They called to sew the beads on afterwards, but I crocheted mine in as I went. This is what mine came out to look like.

This was really fun to do and didn't take too long to do either. I did find a second roll of darker jute of the same size, but I don't have any more BIG hole beads so have to figure how to do without the bead space they do, so I can make another one later. I was really sruprised at how my hands didn't hurt from the jute, it was actually pretty nice to work with in crocheting it.

So guess I'll move on now to work on my last Quarter Challenge item and maybe even do some macrame. I found I have lots of cording :) Too bad I don't have a bigger hook, I could make more baskets..lol They'd make a nice gift filled with different things.

You all have a good Friday and have a great weekend!!

Weekly Topic #5 DWDDSwap

If money were no object, and the day was just perfect - not to hot, not too cold, sun shining, slight breeze - how would you spend a perfect day out that had been given to you in the middle of a cold and blustery winter?

So many aswers I could come up with for this topic with money being no object....could hire someone to paint the outside of the house, could order my 3 or 4 tons of rock I need to finish my front yard, could go out to the lake for the day and rent a boat...etc...but I think with it only being 1 day in the middle of blah, cold weather, you would simply find me with my coffee and my dogs sitting outside just enjoying the 1 warm day I was lucky enough to get. I could still play in the yard with them and do some weeding or fiddle with plants...lol

Dogs on Thursday

These 2 crack me up sometimes, but I was really glad to get another photo of them laying so close to each other. Guess since the last couple weeks with Mom being sick and going back to sleep in the recliner in the morning got them in another habit..lol Every morning since, Lady is always on the sofa, just usually the other end when the pillows are down :) If Storm beats her to that one spot I had to move the pillows over so Lady cold get up there too...lol Just too funny!
Hope everyone has a great Dogs on Thursday!!

Woo-Hoo! I Did It!

I am so beside myself right now cause you all know I've been wanting to make some socks...well, I found a pattern for Crocheted Pedicure Socks and I knew my DIL might like these as before they moved from Vegas she had gotten her license for doing mails & pedicures. I sat with this pattern late this afternoon and was surprised at how quickly I made one up...granted there is no toe, but thats a start for me, especialy after having to frog that cable sock I started way back. Well now I have a pair!!! Woo-Hoo!!

I really can't wait to make a whole actual sock now that I kinda got a feel for how this heel worked, but I'm excited over one without a toe part for now..lol I'll be sending this pair up with Kalee's B-days stuff next month, but I do think I will make Krista some more of these and save them for a Christmas gift. I have a couple pretty color varigated skeins I can play with. She is one that loves homemade items, so she's never a let down :)

Thanks for listening to me.....just had to show them and tell ya about em!

Oh Thank You Secret Pal!

Big Thank you's go out to my secret pal from the DWD Dishcloth swap!! Oh my gosh, I just love what the mail brought :) As you can see its one of Anita's Yummy tape measures and that was the card that came with it. Its mine, all mine! An Oreo cookie I'll have all the time and no one else can eat it...lol
Oreo's and choc chips are my total favorite cookies and I just love this! Thank you secret pal, you definitely made my day!! How did you know I've been eyeballing one of those from her store? :) You are a total sweetheart whomever you may be, Thank you ever so much!!!

Over Due Thank You's!

I do apoligize for not mentioning Thank you's before now, but some of you know that I've been battling a lingering cough, a hacking cough that feels like someone sitting on my chest. I know, still no excuse but I just finally gotten a pic of a Special Valentine I received in the mail too.

Thank you Holly for my Valentine Goodies!
I love my little goodies and that cotton sure is pretty. A color I haven't seen out this way. It came in on Valentines so you weren't late :) Sure made me smile! Thank you for your kindness!!

Also like to Thank everyone on the Dogs On Thursday Valentine List for all the cute Valentine Cards. Storm & Lady had a ball sniffing everyone of them. In fact I had one Lady wanted to munch on...lol It was really nice getting good mail and not all junk mail all the time! Thank you all so much!! I do hope my cards weren't that late in showing up.

I haven't been doing too much crocheting, case of the lazys came along with this cough but I did manage to get my other 2 Boobie Pillows done... See
pretty colors, make me laugh everytime I see them...lol But they are done!
I had to frog my cable sock I had started way back, was so lost in the pattern didn't know where I was, seems my little sticky paper wasn't on my paper. So I need to come up with another project for my Year Long Gift-Along List. I still need to do the Beaded Jute Basket too for this month. Had to change my Quarterly Challenge also. Stupid me didn't relaize the afghan I picked was made from 2" squares, needed about 1000 or so of them..lol I had 6 squares started, but seems they kittie mysteriously disappeared. No clue where they are, haven't found them yet. So I decided to do a pattern from one of Annies Free Pattern of the Month that I luckily printed out called Snow Girl. It consist of a sweater with hat and scarf. I think I can get that done before the end of March and then I know I'll have something for my Granddaughter for Christmas! Next month gift list will be easy for me, they are all gonna be felted slippers :)
Well thats about it from this end I think, nothing else to new, same ol same ol most of the time. OH, Storm is doing good so far, haven't had her get disorientated in a long while now so we're holding steady at 18cc of insulin twice a day. She's been more playful and her weight looks good and its been nice to see some meat on her again.
Hoping I can get back into the crochet of things. I did do my dishcloths for the Dishcloth Swap, just need to get my yarn together and pick up a treat. So hopefully you'll see more projects done soon. Okay, that catches me up here. Do hope you all have a great week. Have a good one gang!!

My Cocoa Swap Package Arrived!

Woo-Hoo, my package arrived yesterday evening and what an awesome pal I have! Thank you very much Cindy F. She spoiled me with lots of goodies and I love it...lol Here is everything once out of the box...
Oh you don't know how bad I want to eat those chocolates...someone have taste buds that are working right...lol I will be hording those till mine come back.
Cindy sent the cutest point protectors, they look like little socks :) and I love the stitch markers. They were sent from Cindy by way of Michele's Etsy, Thank you! They are so cute and the perfect colors. They showed up the same time as my package did :) Great timing there!! Cindy also sent along a couple of patterns, knowing my interest in wanting to learn to knit she sent an easy scarf pattern and the single skein yarn to make it with..I asure you the yarn is lavendar color, seems my flash has been washing things out lately, it looks blue here. I just may give that a try as the yarn is really really soft. Its Misti Cotton and I just love the feel of it! The other yarn is Cascade 220 in the Heathers and I think I will use that for the other pattern, the Booga Bag. I've always wanted to do that bag and that would definitely be a challenge and I'm all for challenges..lol and if worse comes to worse I could always try and crochet it :) Then last but not least is my Blah Buster Buddy...everyone meet Tiny!
Isn't he the cutest? Electra and Lady seem to think so...your right Cindy, I think they smell your animals on him...lol I have to keep him from Lady but I think Tiny is Electra's new cat toy..lol She's taken a real interest in him for sure. Was trying to see for a shot this morning of where the little guy is, seems to be missing in action so I know Electra got him during the night...lol Will update pics with him once he's found. He sure is cute and defintely made me smile!! Thank you again Cindy, you did fantastic and I just love everything! I hope you receive your package real soon and our pal spoils you too!
Thank you to the hostesses who put this swap together, it sure was lots of fun!!

"Elkie" Arrived At His New Home

Well here he is in all his glory before leaving to go to his new home, May I present "Elkie".
What excitement Little Elkie had this weekend too! You have to go and read and/or at least go look at the pics she took! Elkie got to meet the family! Rachel C was my downstream partner and I sure was taken by the response, not only from her but from her "family", Elk family that is :) Hope she doesn't mind me using one of her pics, but this one was absolutely priceless to me...
I really had fun designing the little guy and Rachel was such a great pal to spoil! I know Elkie is happy in his new home. I do hope you'll go read all about his weekend!
As for my package, my pal says its in Vegas so I should be getting it later today when mail comes, so I'm really excited and can't wait. I'll post that as soon as possible. I do want to Thank the hostesses for such a great swap!! You gals did great!

Another Contest

Nancy over at Days Go By is having a 300 post contest. Woo-Hoo...300 posts, thats alot, Congrats Nancy! Its easy to enter and multiple ways to enter, so go on over and check it out...and be sure to tell her I sent ya over. Thanks!
I think the only tip or trick I use in my crocheting is I like to weave my ends in as I go, less likely to forget any that way and when done a project I know I only have that last tail to weave in.

CAUTION: Naughty Ahead

Okay I warned you so you can't say I didn't tell ya! I'm happy to say, "1 down and 2 to go!!"
Told you these would be nice and bright...lol
May I introduce you to my oldest sons Boobie Pillow in Bright Lime Green with Bright Purple trim. (flash made the purple look blue, but I promise its the brightest purple out there)

Joker colors, kid always had a thing for the joker. He even has a Joker Tatoo that he got on his 18th B-day, just cause he was old enough to do it...lol
I have 3 of these on my gift list for the Year-Long-Gift-Along and thought they'd be for Christmas, but thinking now for their birthdays instead. Tims is right around the corner in April and I know he'd love to have this back, though this pattern is alittle bigger then the last one was, he misses his neckroll! :-)
Well, on to #2 & #3 sons..lol

Christmas All Over!

Wow, what a surprise in the mail last night, yeh, we got our mail late and after my computer got turned off for the night...lol but it was like Christmas all over again! My December Swap Pal came through for me :-) and Oh what goodies she sent! Everything was so beautifully wrapped in silver foil paper. You'll see in the pic all the glare...lol

After unwrapping these were all the goodies, Russell Stover Chocolates (yum), big ol candy cane stick (have to hide from one doggie as she was eyeing it), some yummy teas, vanilla bean soap and Glittery Gumdrop body wash from my favorite store! Plus a little silver gift box ornament which I chuckled over, as I almost picked it up myself during Christmas, but in my mind I heard my kids saying, "no buying yourself anything" Dratz! ..lol so that worked out, Thank you Dawn!!! Everything is so great and I love it all!!! Heres the kit part that I can't wait to do!

Crochet Today is one I don't get, but might have to after hearing and reading this one!! Then this is the pattern Dawn had marked for me!

I can't wait to do these too, as my son's girlfriend, Crystal and I were looking for things like this but couldn't find plain Christmas Balls...lol So now we have some new patterns for them. Theres also another pattern in this magazine I will be doing hopefully. Its for a Sweater Coat and really pretty!

Thank you ever so much Dawn T for such a wonderful swap package and I hope things for you are going well! Have a great year!

Buh Bye Buddy!

Buh Bye Buddy Buster!! He's off to his new home! I'm so happy to say that my Cocoa Swap Pals package is in the mail and I sure hope the"buddy buster" doesn't eat all her munchies...lol
I can not wait until she gets it to see how I did, I'm so excited about "him", yes, he has a name too, its E---e (hehee) and you thought I was gonna say it...LOL Now my boys are 28 and 30 that are still home and they named him..lol He is cute and I can't wait to show him off! (but that won't be til she gets her package).

Also, Amanda, Megans hat and other items off to you!
Nancy, the last of your Market Bags are off to you too!
Was a good mailing day today and so glad I finally got off my butt and finally got to the post office...lol (one of those lazy days again).

I think thats all the post for today, hopefully, your probably tired of hearing me...lol Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Happy Birthday Amanda!!

Woo-Hoo! Today is Amanda's Birthday! Happy Birthday Mama!!
Hope you'll stop by her place and wish her a Happy one! Hope its a fantastically great day and you have many more!!

While I have you, here is the hat that is gonna float on Megans head..lol Think her mom needs a hat?

This is Crystal (Nicks girlfriend modeling for you) The pattern is Nubbie Brim Cloche and I made it with Patons Angel Devine. I made the tie part in something different to give alittle color, maybe , just maybe, she'll be able to tighten it some and be able to wear it, if not, well maybe her Mom can wear it! I'll be sending a second hat and scarf to go along. So watch out for mail Mama!!

Dishcloth Swap Topic #3

Well, this is a easy topic of the week. I am interested to see what my pal has, so I can see what to get them. So, to help out our fellow swappers, please post a picture of your yarn stash for making dishcloths and the notions you use on them. So, 2 pics 1 of dishcloth yarn stash and 1 of your notions you use for making dishcloths.
ummmmmmmmm, all in one huh, no way, couldn't do it :) Didnt' realize I had so much as it sits on the shelf in a big basket. You know out of all of this, none matches what I need for my pal
:( Here it all is in all its glory...
First is all my leftovers from previous swap pals
Then I have the leftovers from Market Bags I've been making for Nancy & myself...
Then I have my actual whats left except I still have lots of the solid purple left (like 9 skeins) Then when I was still working I sent Nancy some money and she shopped for me (the baggie on the left side)
Then I was lucky enough to win a prize and received this from Anne to try,
though I need patterns for cotton items, otherwise I'm clueless as what to make with some of these pretty cottons. Now some of the tools for the trade are....
and this sits on my desk and I would be lost without it...
Then I have all this for knitting, all collected from different swaps that were sent to me... Think someone is trying to tell me something...lol
I do think I have more for knitting then I do crochet...lol Guess I better work harder on the knitting end. Please ignore the crappy case job..lol My mood quickly changed when my machine started hassling me and I quickly didn't care, needed a place to put all my "stuff". Oh and I do have a doggy and a sheep tape measure and a cutter thingamabob too that I forgot to put in the photo shoot!!

Cute Buttons & Ramblings

I was out just the other day to try to find the last item for my cocoa pal and pick up some stuffing when I ran across the craft dept. Imagine that..lol. I was just looking around until I ran across these...
I know the pic is dark, but when I used the flash it just washed them away, so you'll have to deal with it for now. :-) I thought with all the different swaps coming up they'd be real cute on my stitch marker holders or other items I've been trying to work on for my Etsy Shop.
I know you've all had those days where you set out to get some stuff done and it just seems like you do nothing but get sidetracked..lol thats been me lately. Hoping its just maybe a touch of Spring Fever. I like the cold and Vegas has been colder this year, but if its not gonna snow then bring back the 60 and 70's, make a longer Spring or actually give us a spring...lol

On the crochet front,
I made my February List for the Gift-Along. I put my cable sock on that list hoping maybe I'll get it done, geesh started it way back in what Nov?..lol Can't remember its been so long! I love that blog as I get projects done and always find more I'm doing in between, I just have a hard time coming up with things to make for gifts..thats always been the hard part, but at least I have kids who appreciate homemade gifts.
I also finished my hat for Megan, though I'm not too sure about it, its awfully hughe. (Amanda, does her mom need a hat to?) lol Don't have a pic of it yet, need to find something to put it on to do that or see if I can talk Crystal into modeling it for me..lol
I've also been trying to help poor Chan with her crochet project, not sure how or what else to do there...can't figure out how to explain hook placement..lol Thats a matter of all it is I think, she's doing great with the stitches, its just hook placement. I'll have to see what else I can come up with there. Might just have to redo the video and try and keep hands out of the way. :-)

On the Swaps front,
I keep in contact with both my pals, I was hoping to send out my Cocoa Swap today, but when you don't have the Hot Cocoa, thats changes plans alot. Thats the major part of that swap...lol I will have it out on Monday for sure. I have a post office run I need to do anyways. Thinking about taking this extra time and come up with a nametag for my "Buddy Buster" as it was named by everyone! I really can't wait to see what everyone else is making for "Buddy Busters". Some I've seen already are really cute!
My dishcloth pal seems really nice and very outgoing, I'm just having a hard time trying to figure out what to put in her package. Don't take long for making the dishcloths, just everything else..lol But I'm sure I'll figure that out, want to get the Cocoa Swap one finished up first.

Well, guess that about it for now, go work on some of my ideas and go get my Cocoa! Hope everyone has a great weekend!! All those with snow, please throw a snowball this way :-)

Everyone have a good one!!
