How Doggies Stay Cool

So does anyone know when winter is coming? I am very ready for it!! Its been too hot that even the dogs don't want to go out while the sun is shining. I do think I started a bad habit with them though. Seeing that mom has ice cream every night, (helps me sleep plus cools me off) the girls want it too, so I stock up on Frosty Paws now! They just love it!
I haven't tried a whole one each yet.
Coco carries on so much with me just trying to get the ice cream out of the container it comes in...lol Of course I have to cut it up, Lady wasn't too thrilled with the one time she did get it whole. (back during Storm days and she didn't like it then)
I was trying to alternate between the ice cream and the doggie muffins I made, but the muffins didn't last to long before they starting growing (oh my!). So decided the next time I make some muffins for them I will have to keep them in the frig. I'm sure they'd like the coolness too.

Not too much otherwise new with the girls, they sleep and play indoors alot and Coco is growing like a weed, but even still as smaller as she is then Lady, she definitely stand up for herself. She starts alot of the play with Lady, I call her Ms. Antagonizer! lol And can she run...lol She thinks hiding behind moms planted pots that Lady can't get her..funny to watch.

Well hope everyone has a great DoT day! Stay cool and anyone near the beach, jump in for me please..lol Thank you!

Janes Green Contest!

So, Jane wants to know what you are doing to make the world more beautiful? At her house they have started composting, not exactly a beautiful thing - but it may lead to a beautiful garden with more home grown veggies, etc. So...to enter my contest, leave a comment on this post telling me what you are doing to make the world more beautiful - it can be serious, or it can be funny (I like to laugh!). The contest will run until the end of the month. Link my contest on your blog and you will get two chances to win. On July 31 I'll draw three names and each will win one of these hand-crocheted market bags - one more way to make the world more beautiful!

We recycle here at our house. Every time I go to the base I take my paper bags back with me and I also reuse the plastic bags. They come in handy when poo scooping..lol We also have been upgrading appliances too and with the extreme weather this summer, we have Styrofoam in most of our windows to keep the sun out. It has helped tremendously!

I love the market bags they are offering too. I wish I could knit one. But I have crocheted quite a few and just did another new pattern. It came out smaller then the other pattern I have used but would be great for fruits and smaller items. Here's the pic of it
Its called Go Green Market Bag and its a Suzetta pattern found here.
I do plan to make a few more bags, especially to keep in the car and handy when I forget to bring them with. (Great idea Nancy, Thanks!)

Well off to go do the dinner thing...have a great evening everyone!

Day Late-DoT

Well this sure seems to be my motto lately-"Day late & a picture short" lol, but I'm earlier then last week and do have 2 new pics! If it weren't for my son I'd be up the creek without a paddle for a doggie post. He was able to get the single pic of Coco. Lady sometimes doesn't co-operate. I luckily caught this one.
I really had wished I could have gotten Coco to look up, but with kittie just in the front of Coco and a little to the right, I'm surprised she stayed there. Yes, Dyna has been out quite a bit and were slowly getting Coco to be nice to her. She'll run after the cat, but won't eat her as much, unless we're not around..lol She know when mom says "no kittie" that mom means business. She's been a little hellion lately too, what I call my little hell on wheels, so don't let this innocent pic fool ya!
She is quite the character. Boy is she quick! Her and Lady have been running around like their on a race track outback and sure do get the dirt flying..lol Coco chases after Lady and sure does her best to outrun her too! She's a quick little thing. I do think it will a bathing weekend. Coco isn't much for lots of lovin (though I'm trying), but boy, when we come home from work she is right there and gets so excited shaking her tail so much it shakes her whole body...lol Mike & I try to walk in the house together as both doggies comes running and Lady showing some signs of jealousy, so trying to give her extra loving. After all, she is our lapdog!
That's all the new news. Not too much going on other then the heat and we won't talk about that, its kicking my butt this year! Even the dogs are feeling it too! Their not much to going out during the hot afternoons. You have to go out with them to get them to go out...lol Spoiled pooches!
Well I hope you all make it a great weekend!! I do hope to catch up on my blog reads, I'm behind on that too!

DoT-updated finally!

Ahhhh, I had forgotten to email myself at work so this spot WAS reserved until ... Now!

Its been so long since we've been able to get some new shots of these munchkins but we have a couple now. Saturday I made some treats for the dogs. Apple Crunch Pupcakes. These are how ours turned out
Did manage a pic of Coco eating one.

Lady has hers gone in seconds so couldn't get one of her.
Hated to turn the oven on, but it was early and they seem to eat their food more when they think its human food. :) I made human muffins too seeing oven was on, ours were Banana Chocolate Chip muffins...yum!!
Not too much going on otherwise then its HOTTER then hell here and we've been having humidity..lol So the dogs usually are inside and only go out to go potty. Its even hot at night, geesh last night at 10 pm its was still 99 degrees out, yuck!
We have been trying to get Coco and Dyna together so Coco will quit chasing her..Dyna has been out and about alot so we're getting pic's of Coco looking for her..lol
Now wheres that darn cat is the look I thought she had in that second pic, she didn't see the cat walk across the back of the chair...lol After all the chasing and Coco & Lady playing this is how you usually find them.
Chilled out on the floor somewhere.

Well I do hope that everyone had a great weekend! Ours seems to have gone alittle slower then most, which is nice, I may be able to break out some crochet, been so long since I've worked on anything.
Hope its a good week ahead for all...

Special DoT

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DoT!!! DoT is 1 years old today!

Thank you Paula for putting Coco in the spotlight, our lives just haven't been the same since we picked her out!
I'm just gonna post some pictures of our little fluff and tell you we are still amazed at how they get along so well, you would think they've been together for years!
(when we first got her)

(they do lay on this together or separate and this has become Coco's eating treats area..lol)
I do however wish I had a picture of the two when a dog is in tow...lol They chase each other and eventually you see Lady pulling Coco cause Coco has Lady's tail in her mouth and Lady just pulls her all around until she's had enough...lol
(July 4 weekend didn't want any part of the pool)
Coco seems to grow every day and you can always tell when Lady is trying to "help" Coco with her treats...Coco guards them well and carries on wild barking! Do think its only been 1 that Lady was able to get from her. (that a girl Coco)

I hope you get to go over to DoT and wish DoT a Big Happy 1st Birthday!!

North Pole Package!

I must have been a good girl :) I got a package all the way from the North Pole!!
I sure wish the cold that I imagined would've come with it..lol We's roasting out here!

Diane was my secret pal in the Keepin It Cool Dishcloth Swap and she almost had it dead on date for the 4th of July. Her theme was Red, White & Blue. I forgot to take pic's before opening but I got the pictures of the goods and what goodies they are! I loved the pictures of the doggies on the postcard, really cute little guys!
Here is everything together (and their are 2 cloths there). She had everything wrapped in the Red, White & Blue napkins to go with her theme, plus she added extras. Thank you so much Diane! I just love it all and then some.
Funny how I made a comment of buying these types of yarn for my pals but never for myself. Well, Diane took care of that for me, see
I can't wait to use them both and she sent a pattern book too. The yarn is just the right colors too to match up in my new kitchen colors! I feel silly getting excited over yarn..lol, but I can't wait to try em.
I was in awe of this box though, let alone the mug that was inside.
That's my Lady babes family :) Almost the coloring of our very first husky named Lady. I love the little picture inside the mug, that is so cool!
Diane made a big hit with the dogs that's for sure..they just love these Salmon treats!!
Oh I had help trying to take pictures, so I kept them busy with their new treats! (had to take this pic first) Wow, they really smell like Salmon and they sure did gobble them up quick the little piggies! Now I have to figure out what to do when they run out...lol
I do believe Mike has the mints :) think my household loves me getting packages, everyone usually around to see what inside, especially the dogs...lol
Thanks again Diane!!
Terrific package and she definitely paid attention to detail.

Love Belated!

Well I never even thought that with this post, I would get to see these up close and personal.
I received a belated Birthday package!

We got home in time to see Rob walking up with the mail and as he brought it in, I was going back out with Coco. She needed her last set of puppy shots and just seeing the pretty package made me smile and brightened up a really long day at work, let alone a HOT ride home in the truck with no A/C, but I had to wait as we were running little behind. Nick took me in his truck to the vet, his A/C works! Anyways we got back home, I put Coco down and I ran for the package, it was from Chan ! I wasn't sure what I'd find inside, I really wasn't expecting anything, but this is what I found inside..

Thank you Chan, so very much! I have a new book now and it talks about all kinds of felting, (I kinda thumbed through it real quick). The note pad is pretty (& purple)and goes well on my desk. Well curiosity got me for the smaller package, it was soft so I guessed it was something she made, never in a million years did I expect these

OMG do you know how much I loved these socks when I first saw her post about them? I fell in love with the colors, it was love at first sight. I love that they are different and their a combo of knit and crochet and their beautiful and they fit really great!! See

(yeah, big feet, but you have to remember I'm really tall ) :) These are now my birthday socks and I can't wait to show them off.

Thank you so much Chan !! You really made my day and surprised the hec out of me, too and I'm so proud of you with your crocheting. Your doing better then I with knitting..lol Though I'm ready to move onto more than a cloth now...lol

I"m so lucky to have all my blog friends, I love you all! Happy 4th to everyone!! Be safe and stay cool!

Topic #4-final Topic

Here's this week's topic: Go check out one other person's blog who's answered some of the weekly topics.. find someone you have something in common with, who posted a really cool cloth pattern, or who 'calls' to you for some other reason, and post about them on your blog sharing why!
I love to go over to Grace's blog. She does absolutely gorgeous knitting and so much of it she gives away. She has a heart of gold and then some. I keep an eye on alot of different blogs that show different patterns of cloths but I've also found a few on Graces too! Her knitting really inspires me to learn to knit more, I have had my eye on a few knitted items so I keep visiting Grace's blog for the inspiration to start on something other then a cloth. My last couple cloths came out great but I need to learn more then knit and purl..lol

Thanks for having this swap Anne!!! Hope everyone has a great Holiday weekend!!

Think Lady Hates Water- DoT

* Note- photo's added *

Oh the fun we had last weekend. I finally dug out the dogs pool and what a blast and bunch of laughs. Lady had fun trying to steal the hose out of the pool..lol
She didn't bother with the pool if the water wasn't moving, but turn that hose on and look out!! She was soaked head to toe and mom just laughed!
Coco on the other hand just wanted back inside just like Lady did when she was a pup. She did not want anything to do with the pool. Meantime my hose stealer was having a ball!
I think the patio had more water on it then the pool had in it...lol I did wind up putting the camera down and picking Coco up and set her in the pool, she jumped out so fast and ran for the door, which we had to yell in for a towel... I knew then I would have a hard time getting her to go outside again for potty, and she would run away from me if I got too near...lol Oh well, I coaxed her out a few times and finally later that evening she went out on her own and I caught a quick glimpse through the blinds of her reaching over the pool by herself to sniff and see what all the fuss was about and why Lady kept drinking from it. Can you say worlds biggest doggie water bowl..lol Probably do it again this weekend, who know, maybe Coco will join in a bit, but I too won't force her again. Later we caught this photo, arent' they pretty girls :)
We all wish you all a Happy & Safe July 4th!!
