Some FO's Recently Finished

Wow, its been a long time since my last post of projects. Its not all dogs around here, but it sure has been busy and somewhat brutal lately. We'll get on with the projects first as I actually have alot. My Lisa Gentry Group over at ravelry has had those hooks flying with finished projects. All these FO's are Lisa's designs. Most recent is my Swing Jacket done in Bay Print from Red Heart. I fell in love with the colors and though it worked up alittle stiff, a good washing softened it right up. I just need to find a nice pin or do a fancy button, haven't really decided yet. The pattern ran large so I wound up frogging and starting over to make a size Small. (and it fits me) so I have some skeins left which I made a hat with just to see how it would look. The hat is called "Palermo" with flower. which Lisa has 2 hat pattens for this month contest and I'm reading too much into the other one and having a devil of a time with it, but I think at lunch today I finally got it! We'll see when its done.
Next I have a short scarf. Lisa calls this scarf Centennial Chains and its named after her town recently having their Centennial Celebration. (I'll try to link that when ravelry is back up). There are so many possibilities with this scarf, but I only had enough to make a short scarf and my lovely 4 legged fur baby had to be enticed with treats to sit so well. She is such a good girl, but I couldn't do it on my own, she is looking at Rob who is holding the treat..lol
I do plan on making more of these as you can use it for a belt, a long scarf, short scarflet, even a headband and I'm sure there are more ideas out there too.
While doing the above projects I was making these...

Beaded Flamboyance these were so easy to make, it really took longer to pre-string the beads. I have a few more of these to make as they are easy to change to make earrings and ring like I did, though for me the ring next time will be thinner and not such a big bead..lol not where I work. I wound up taking it off as I kept catching it on everything. I didn't have enough of those beads for a necklace, but I will be making a set for myself and my DIL for Christmas.
We tried our hand at Hairpin Lace too...boy I learned that before actually learning to crochet a granny square when I was younger. I remember helping mom makes strips for afghans, so this was a brush up course more or less, took me a few to get it started but once I did, I had no problems at all. This is Lisa's Earthy Sun Hairpin Doily pattern.
I had some leftover color that semi goes with my kitchen. I took a finished pic with my cake plate on it, but you can see it better in this pic, while it was blocking. Cake plate was empty but still blocked most of the doily. I am currently and have been for awhile now trying to make the Hairpin Top, though I'm going tunic length with mine. I'm still working on strips, it seems to be the project that sits more..lol I also am working on and almost done with Crochet Twisted Wrap. I'm using the yarn I won in my Dec prize package from Lisa. I hope to have more projects posted soon as I still have a few here that need finishing.
I know I missed a couple doggie posts, but I will have one this week, as we finally have some pics to show. Krista came down with the grand kids so of course doggies go hide...lol Coco is still afraid of them so she's been a mess here lately, no picture taking in a while now...Krista went back home, but the kids are still down here at her moms for a couple more weeks. Don't think coco likes anyone who doesn't live here to come over. Nick came down yesterday, nice surprise for Mothers Day and Coco wouldn't go to him at all either. He's only been gone about 2 and half months, but she finally did let him pet her when he was getting ready to leave..lol silly pup.
We had to add another gate to the stairs. Coco's been bad upstairs, but now Lady thinks its a game or something as she climbs over the gate everyday and lays on the landing..lol This morning Mike opened the gate to let her through before we left, she was headed tat way anyways..lol Oh them doggie woes...but can't blame her if she needs a break from the Coco-mo. Think that's it for now, sometimes I feel like I left my brain somewhere, I know I'm behind on blog reads and haven't e-mailed my friends hardly lately. Get on here and pattern hunt or search for stuff and time just goes by, especially when getting on ravelry...wow.
Do hope you all made it this far and if you did I do hope your Mother's Day went well. You all have a great week ahead and I'll be back here Thursday!

My FFBE Pal Got her Bag!

I know its late, but I had some problems, but I did get my bag out and just got word my pal received her bag. My pal was Karen R of ABC's of Creative Pursuits. I really thought I had it made as she mentioned she had gotten a new laptop and I had just gotten the new book, so I had the perfect bag to make for her. Even the colors are the same except for one I changed (I didn't like the mustard yellow straps so I made it purple) :) Couldn't go wrong with purple and green!
So now that Karen has her new bag, which I hope she really likes and can use, I can now show it off as I had several people anxious to see....so here it is
This took quite a bit to felt up, though the pocket over felted and I couldn't add it in without ruining the bag. Sure hope Karen doesn't mind, but if she wants to line it for pocket use she has my blessings :) Here are some of the goodies I sent along with...
This bag pattern came out of "Crocheted Pursenalitites" and was titled Career Casual. Yarn is what they called for and that was Cascade 220 in 8885 purple and 9447 green and part of the main body was using the green and Aurora Noro (purple colorway) I do love the sparkle that Aurora gave to the bag and it was nothing like regular Noro I worked with before. I'm glad I decided to buy 1 skein extra of each as the only thing I have extra is 1 of the Aurora Noro and a small tiny ball amount of green so I've decided for every pattern I ever do next, I'm buying extra cause as you know I usually have to order online!
I definitely had fun with this exchange and I sure hope Karen didn't mind me being a pest...lol she was quiet for awhile but I kept pestering.. I always meant well!

For those who keep updated with me about Storm, she is still way off the scale on glucose so they've upped the dosage again and we go back Tues. I'm really starting to get discouraged on this, but I'm hanging in there with Thanks to my friends!!

Well, off I go so I can make some stuffed Christmas tree's I'm behind on for putting up in my Etsy store, but I did add a couple sock size stitch marker/row counter sets this morning. Still working on the snowflakes ones though, but will have them up soon. Thanks to you all who visit and read my ramblings and visit my store..thats what keeps me going!!
Have a great Sunday and I hope everyone has a great week ahead!!

Crochet Update & Contest I Found!

Wow, was I a bad girl, but it feels so good...Look at all my yummies...My Knit Picks order came in and man, could I go for a real Smores :) The purples are Rocky Mountain and the Blues are Yukon & then of course my Smores..lol Now I just have to get with the program and do this knitting thing! I did order more dpn's today from knitpicks so I'll be able to start real soon, but at least I got the yarn :)

Earlier this afternoon Mike asked if I wanted to go to Micheals....lol (you had to ask), well of course I wanted to go and I never turn it down when he wants to go..lol So after a hundred and some odd dollars later I came out with the SWS and lots more cotton,I need more dishcloth and these colors match my kitchen well , plus lots of extra's that I can't show....never know when swap pals may peek in and see..lol Wouldn't want to ruin the surprises.... The SWS I want to do another croceht B4Bag look alike and use black for the welts..in person the SWS looks black, not Navy like it says on label..lol

I also order from Knittingdream the Bar Harbor Shell Bag
and the Stain Glass Window Bag . I just love that bag (Stain Glass Window) and its inspired me even more to learn to knit, heck I just may try that first!

Also, we all love to do contest and there is a contest here so blog on over and enter, It ends July 25th so there is still time. I found it through Chan's blog.

I did do some crocheting this weekend. I crocheted The Market Bag for a good friend of mine. It was so so easy and fast too! I started it on Friday afternoon and only had to finish up the handle Saturday morning. I really was surprised that I didn't try this bag before. I will say it is BIG, measure 15" across the center bottom which is circular. Nice size for market or even make a great beach bag to throw things in or a project bag too. Here's a pic of the one I made. Came out great! I have started another one for myself too :)
Well I think I covered everything I wanted too...happy Crocheting/Knitting everyone! Hope its a great week ahead!!
