Another Finish!

Whew, I made my deadline for this next finished project. Its a contest piece since March is crochet month. I wanted to have it done by today (31st) so I could enter it in Lisa Gentry's Crochet Month Contest Thread in our group on ravelry. I made it!
Pattern is Cropped Jacket, made with Lion Brands Incredible in Accents on Black colorway. This is a free pattern and its an easy pattern at that. Its quick to do too!

My model is Sylvie (co-worker & good friend), she wanted to wear it all day and loved it so much, I told her it hers. She is the new owner!

After her trying it on the other day with just 1 sleeve, I knew it would be for her. Her reaction was just heartwarming! She was so excited!

Enjoy it Sylvie and Thank you fo rmodeling it for us.

Well, have to get back to work, but wanted to share with you all while its still crochet month.

Make it a good one!!

DoT-Doggies

Woo-hoo, I'm on a roll now..lol Hello to everyone and Happy Dogs on Thursday to you all!
I'm proud to say I have a pic of each this time. Not very good ones and certainly not their cute poses, but its still alittle busy around here and with some little miss problems. I will say they are getting along with Dyna lots better. She has been coming downstairs alot more and that makes me a happy camper.
On to the girls....they've been real good and I'm glad of that too as work has been busy and I don't get the chance to spy in on them, but when I do they are usually sleeping at the top of the stairs.
Here we have the Lady Buggers, not sure what had her attention, they've spent alot of time sniffing around the yard so think its time to hose it all down again.
Then theirs the "lil ms." Coco.
Coco has surprised us some. We came home one day to her having a bald spot on her right side hine rear quarter. Down to bare skin, poor thing, think she's chewed at her fur or pulled it out or something. Kinda matches with her other side (you can see that black spot by her butt just under the white fur), that's the spot the vet trimmed down that day cause I was concerned about a red spot and no hair. Glad to say that her fur is growing back in on that side, but this new side..not sure whats going on. We went and spent the money on a good trimmer set for doggies. Two speed and really quiet. We kinda gang up on Coco in the garage. She had no where to run or hide and Lady was out there too to make it less scary for her. Rob & I held her and Mike trimmed back the fur around her bald spot in hopes that she'll leave it alone to get better. I do put bacitracin on it at night time and hope for the best. Not too much more we can do seeings we're not home during the day. She is getting better as far as letting us brush her and trap her, though I still have some small metal combs that have been good in getting into her fur to get at the knots. I do think that is why she bites at herself. Her fur is so fine and thin and knots so easily that we are really thinking of trimming her fur down some. I might be able to get a handle on the knots this way as I sure would hate to have to completely shave her. Rob wants to give her a Lion look cut..lol I'm really going to have to read up on her breed. I never thought the Chow Chow breed were whiners either...oh my gosh this little one is a whiner, a grunter, attention getter and sometime a real pain in the butt..lol She makes up for it in her cuteness, she is just too cute to be all these things, plus thinking she is a princess, Oh help me! I think Lady is not sure either about Coco too, as sometimes she gives me the look like what? ....lol I'm with Lady, daddy can have the whiner...lol
Well, think I've rambled on enough so will get off of here for now. Hope you all have a great day and hope you get a chance to stop on by DoT to see what everyone else is up too. Make it a good day now!

Finally Some FO's!

Well its been a long time coming with these projects. A couple projects I've been running out of yarn on and spent my time waiting for more to come in, which in waiting I made more projects..lol Trying to keep that hook flying along with catching up which seems to never end, both house wise and Internet wise...lol
First up is one I was waiting for yarn to come only to have to wait for ordering more as I ran out 2 rows shy of finishing. I give you The Magic Shrug.

Its a Lisa Gentry pattern and I actually used the yarn called for it, though I went through more yarn then the pattern stated :)

It is very roomy and nice and comfy warm. I used Moda Dea Sassy Stripes and colorway is "Swish". First time working with this yarn and I love it! Not one split and glides right through your fingers. This shrug will be great on the cool evenings sitting out with the dogs. I had a couple models at work, but no camera and then being home it was the opposite. I had camera but no models...guys weren't too crazy about that idea..lol
I just love Lisa's pattern, they are easy to follow, she uses pictures and shes a sweetheart to bug if you have questions.
I also got back into Hairpin Lace (via Lisa Gentry Ravelry Group). Gosh this is what I first learn watching my mom making Hairpin Lace Afghans. It only took a few minutes and I got into the groove of it again. I did another Lisa Gentry pattern from our group CAL.

Of course I just grabbed what was close by as I wasn't sure if I would get the knack of it again. Just gave me practice as I am in the process of doing Lisa's Hairpin Lace Top (ravelry link) I will be doing a couple of these as I'd like to try one in cotton. I have a bunch of Black & White cotton I'd like to use too.

In between all this I have been doing Peaches & Creme Group on ravelry, Friendship Scarf. A group of 4 and we each start our own scarf and do 2 rows and then pass to the next person on our list.
Here's Kim's scarf, which has 2 more stops yet, as I was the first to add to hers.

Here is Norma's scarf that will get mailed to Chris on Friday. Its been done and just waiting.

I haven't seen mine in awhile so I'm excited to see it. I do believe mine should be at its last stop before coming back home.

In all this crocheting going on I decided to make crochet Cupcakes for a couple Birthdays coming up quickly. Here is the one that will be going out first and I do have a yellow bottom one in the works, it just need the top icing part. I've decided to make these for my dept co-workers. They are alot easier, take up less room and work up quick. Its something they can leave on the desk at work and not be in the way.

I was going through some yarn and I came across some Lion Brand Incredible (ribbon yarn) and thought I'd try my luck at this. Its a cropped Jacket and I thought maybe for my DIL. This is what I have so far...
This is the right & left front pieces and then this is the back...
I have a few more rows to go yet on it and then I have the sleeves to do. It is definitely different crocheting with ribbon, but its alot of fun too.
So this is what I've been up too so far. Now I have to figure out my doggie post..lol So I guess I'll be back again tomorrow with that.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

Sisterly Love Dog Style

Wow, its hard to believe its Thursday already and time for another doggie post. First off- Happy DoT to everyone! Hope you'll stop by to see what all the other dogs & moms are up to, too.
This has been one very busy week for me and I really haven't had time to do much of anything! I'm not only doing my job at work, which is Legal Dept File Clerk, but I'm also doing part of our mail gals job too to help out. (her hubby pasted away Saturday evening). She definitely has job security as I'm trying not to mess things up too bad..lol So its been hectic both work and around my house to say the least. I get home and I just want to crash, but instead we do our daily routine of getting rowled by two beautiful, very loving pups who are just so excited that we're home! I wouldn't trade it for the world, except to be home with them. I know they miss us! (though they don't know how I miss them).
So, today this is the only pic I have, but I think it shows how Coco feels about Lady. Coco just loves her, follows her, won't stay in another room without her Big Sis and is always touching her in some small way when their just being lazy pups. I am still amazed at how well they get along, though Lady does tell Coco when she's being protective when Coco starts the rowling up with mom..lol
This pic came about while I was sitting at my desk and Mike at his and here they are between us.(that's my chair behind Coco), I carefully passed the camera to Mike and this is what came out, just in time as Coco lifted her head to see what was going on...lol I think the only time they are in different rooms is during the day as we usually see Coco in the living room either on the sofa or on the floor and Lady is most the time we believe laying in front of our bedroom door just out of site of the camera. We know this as we've been lucky to see her at the top of the stairs and watch the direction she goes..lol Usually some part of the morning Coco will be laying at the top of the stairs too, but like clockwork they are usually down at the gate downstairs awaiting our arrival, though their clock is about an hour before we get there..lol Hopefully over the weekend I can get some shots of the girls as our weather is in the 80's right now and I have some back yard work to get done and I'm sure I'll have company while doing so. When we're home they don't let us out of their site too much.
That's about it for now...Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a good tail wagging day! I'll try to get a project update up soon.

Chillin Out Time-DoT

Happy DoT to everyone! We think Mom is finally getting alittle smarter and lining these post up ahead of time as long as she doesn't lose our photos..lol

This week has been alittle busy and boy the weather has been nice enough to do some outside work, so I put the girls outback while I did some weeding in the front. Poor Lady just sat there as Coco barked at me most the time. After much nose running fun (from the dirt out here, gets me every time), I decided to come in and do the meatballs for one of our lunches this week and for spaghetti dinner. The girls decided since I wasn't dropping any burger while rolling them they would just chill out and for once it was out of my feet's way. What a shock that was...lol
I looked to see where they were and this is what I found just on the other side of the pony wall by the table.

Still can't over Coco, she just loves Lady and will try to lay near her and usually touching in one way or another. Her head was down, but Thank God she didn't move like she usually does...
Later on I trimmed the fur on Lady paws so of course its treat time after that..lol. Glad I bought one of those Extra Big size pupperoni bags. They each got one and ran! The guys were fiddling with the TV so the doggie beds were piled up on each other....this is where I found Coco...

Quite the Queen she thinks she is..lol
Of course she moved her head just as the picture took, but you get the idea. Tell ya, she is hard to photograph sometimes..she see you pointing something in her direction and she gets up to run away or to come towards you. She is quite a character. Not sure why she gets so nervous sometimes, but I'm guessing she's still trying to get use to no one being home during the day. I know when we're home on weekends, they are where we are, especially by me. I'm am always guaranteed to have doggies on me or very close by. They have been great during work week. We did purchase web cam #4 for upstairs. So we have the steps covered which was good for Friday as we have found that calling home when we see Lady trying to instigate Coco works in breaking that up. Most the time they are occupied with toys or their napping, so all is good.
Thanks for stopping in, hope you'll check out the other dogs over on Dogs on Thursday!

Customer Service

Wow I was shocked this morning to find a package at the door that I didn't know was there still almost stepping on it. I noticed one side was ripped
so carefully picked it up by that side and whoosh...the contents of the package then fell out the other side.
Isn't it pretty? Here's what was inside
although it was missing 1 skein. Its Woods Trail and part of the yarn I need for a CAL at Kim's Yahoo group for her new book Tunisian around the home. We'll be doing one of the afghans in her book. I'm still waiting for the other 2 colors from another source to come in. Should be this week. I do hope I matched colors good...lol
I'm glad I got the chance to use my new cell phone camera (takes good pics), though I didn't really need it. I wasn't sure what to expect as it was the first time ordering through this company. I called from work right away and the woman took the info and my problem and said they'd ship another out right away. She was very nice, courteous and friendly. She says I should have my missing skein in about a week. I really expected some kind of needing proof and all that crap so I was really surprised at how easy it was. Good Customer Service, I like that!

Whatcha Think?

Well this is what I did today, whatcha thing? Does it look like the one I bought down below in the previous post?
I did this Purple one first and then did this what I thought was Sea Foam green but I'm thinking its a very light Sage Green. Sorry I don't have better photo's.

I do think next time I will try to find just a bit thinner of a towel, had alittle problem on the roll up..lol but I did get it to work.

Crafts- This is a Craft Blog Afterall

Getting more back to the "craft" portion of this blog..lol Do you remember this? Well here it is all done!

This took a long time to dry though I don't suppose my pockets helped any in the drying process..lol I love how much it holds and I can put more than one book or magazine in it too. I just don't like the handle. It makes it buckle and bulge in the middle, so I will have to come up with some ideas how to fix that before I cut off the handles and redo ...lol Also here's a crappy view of the inside pocket part. At least I have a while to get it fixed before it needs to be a gift.
I did wind up with lots of leftover yarn from this so I made another felted Yarn Bag which I just finished up. Now just have to felt it. I put an inside pocket on plus sewed a D-ring to it also, so I have a place for keys or cutesy key change pen. I'm hoping this one will turn out taller than the last one as I'd like to just be able to take one bag on bowling nights.
Here is a pic of the yarn bag before as its ready to be washed today whenever I get to that part..lol Trying to catch myself up some.
Now I have another project that I'll be doing if I can figure it out, which I'm sure I can, that I am good at. Its an easy put together from what I can tell.
Thursday night another bowling friend and crafter brought this cutie in along with some others. She was at a craft fair trying to sell her items and had a couple left over. Isn't this cute! Yes, I bought one, couldn't resist and it gives me something to make for Birthdays! I need to get busy on one as I have a birthday on Wednesday I need one for. I already got my towels for it, just need to dig out a few fancies to pretty them up! Thinking this will be a monthly project to do.
Think that's all I have to share as far as crafts..I have a good pic of Lady but will wait for doggie day to post that...we have a coco pic too ;)
Well need to get busy here, Lady is voicing her wanting outside..dang that hurts when she does it in my ear! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!
